Testing method for IP protection and waterproofing level of Sanace fans

 

IP protection level refers to the classification of electrical appliances based on their dust and moisture resistance characteristics. The waterproofing levels can be divided into 8 levels based on their effectiveness, and the testing methods for these 8 levels are as follows,

⑴IPX 1

Method Name: Vertical Drip Test

Test equipment: drip test device

Sample placement: Place the sample in its normal working position on a rotating sample table at a rate of 1 r/min, with a distance of no more than 200mm from the top of the sample to the dripping port. Test conditions: The dripping amount is 10.05 mm/min

Duration: 10 minutes

 

⑵IPX 2

Method name: inclined 15 ° drip test

Test equipment: drip test device

Sample placement: Make one surface of the sample form a 15 ° angle with the perpendicular, and the distance from the top of the sample to the drip opening should not exceed 200mm. After each experiment, switch to another surface for a total of four times.

Test conditions: Drip rate of 30.5 mm/min

Duration: 4 × 2.5 minutes (total of 10 minutes)

 

⑶IPX 3

Method Name: Water Spray Test

Test method:

a。 Pendulum type water spraying test

Test equipment: Pendulum type water spraying and splashing test device

Sample placement: Select a pendulum tube with an appropriate radius, so that the height of the sample table is at the position of the pendulum tube diameter. Place the sample on the sample table, so that the distance from its top to the sample spray nozzle is not more than 200mm, and the sample table does not rotate.

Test conditions: the water flow is calculated according to the number of Spiracle in the swing tube, and each hole is 0.07 L/min. When spraying water, the water from the Spiracle in the 60 ° arc segments on both sides of the swing tube midpoint is sprayed to the sample. Place the sample at the center of the semicircle of the pendulum tube. The swinging tube swings 60 ° along both sides of the perpendicular, totaling 120 °. Each swing (2 × 120 °) for approximately 4 seconds

Test time: continuous watering for 10 minutes

b。 Sprinkler type water spraying test

Test equipment: handheld water spraying and splashing test device

Sample placement: Ensure that the parallel distance between the top of the test and the handheld nozzle is between 300mm and 500mm

Test conditions: A baffle with a balance weight should be installed during the test, with a water flow rate of 10 L/min

Test time: calculated based on the surface area of the tested sample shell, 1 minute per square meter (excluding installation area), with a minimum of 5 minutes

⑷IPX 4

Method name: Splash test

Test method:

a. Pendulum tube splashing test

Test equipment and sample placement: the same as IPX 3 item a above;

Test conditions: Except for the following conditions, they are all the same as the above IPX 3 clause a; The water spraying area is the water spraying from the Spiracle in the 90 ° arc segments on both sides of the swing pipe midpoint to the sample. Place the sample at the center of the semicircle of the pendulum tube.  The pendulum tube swings 180 ° along both sides of the perpendicular, totaling approximately 360 °. Each swing (2 × 360 °) for approximately 12 seconds

Test time: The same as the previous IPX 3 model a (i.e. 10 minutes).

b. Sprinkler type splash test

Test equipment and sample placement: Same as IPX 3 item b above;

Test conditions: Remove the baffle with a balance weight installed on the equipment, and the rest are the same as the IPX 3 model b mentioned above;

Test time: Same as IPX 3 item b above, i.e. calculated based on the surface area of the tested sample casing, 1 minute per square meter (excluding installation area), minimum 5 minutes

⑸IPX 5

Method name: Water spray test

Test equipment: The inner diameter of the spray nozzle is 6.3mm

Test conditions: The distance between the test sample and the water spray nozzle is 2.5m-3m, and the water flow rate is 12.5 L/min (750 L/h)

Test time: calculated based on the surface area of the tested sample shell, 1 minute per square meter (excluding installation area), at least 3 minutes

⑹IPX 6

Method name: Strong water spray test;

Test equipment: The inner diameter of the spray nozzle is 12.5 mm

Test conditions: The distance between the test sample and the water spray nozzle is 2.5m-3m, and the water flow rate is 100 L/min (6000 L/h)

Test time: calculated based on the surface area of the tested sample shell, 1 minute per square meter (excluding installation area), at least 3 minutes

⑺IPX 7

Method name: Short time immersion test

Test equipment and conditions: Immersion water tank. The size should be such that after the sample is placed in the immersion tank, the distance from the bottom of the sample to the water surface is at least 1m. The distance from the top of the sample to the water surface should be at least 0.15m

Test time: 30 minutes

⑻IPX 8

Method name: Continuous diving test;

Test equipment, test conditions, and test time: to be agreed upon by both parties (buyer and seller), and their severity should be higher than IPX 7.
